Verse: Mattew 17:1-13
Transfiguration simply means change in form or state, or better still, conversion into another state, where this new state is higher or more exalted than the prior.
The disciples in a twinkle of an eye, saw how Jesus was changed, this was vivid to their eyes and perception. Moses had this same experience when he returned from seeking God and the commandments. The Israelites couldn’t look at his new form, he was Glorified. He encountered God and was changed.
“And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’’Matthew 3:17 NKJV
In this verse we see how God himself introduces Christ, and tells how Christ pleases him and that we should hear him.
God perhaps didn’t want to scare the disciples or cause panic again like that of Moses and the Israelites, so he does a proper introduction to expose his relationship with Christ and give us a granted permission to listen to Christ.
Moses came with a tablet of Commands to be obeyed but Christ came as the fulfillment of the law and impacts to us through his Spirit, the Spirit of Love, therefore, if you love God you’ll keep his commandments “ Matt 14: 15.
“To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.’’ Acts 3:26 NKJV
God has sent Christ to us, Yes, to bless us, to turn us away from our iniquities. An encounter with Jesus( the impart of His spirit; an encounter with love) turns us away from our iniquities.
Anytime a person changes a habit (learns or unlearns) something new, he or she is being converted. This can make you either better or worse but never the same!!!
“In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”John 1:4 NKJV
Light brings clarity of sight and restores hope.God called onto an unstructured and formless place of great darkness, Light, of which we are still having a fair share of.
Only the life of Christ can bring light to us
An encounter with life and light will leave an impact, you will be changed!!
“For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.”Psalms 36:9 NKJV
An encounter with Christ brings a permanent changes which can’t be undone. Let us aim to encounter Christ daily, to receive a refreshing. We will be changed, yes into His image, holy, loving, merciful, spotless, blameless, anointed and full of power!!!
And we will be CHANGED!!!!!
Prayer: Father I thank you for loving me, and wanting the best for me, help me consistently please you, and be encounter by your love. Thank you for your work in me, may I encounter you daily in Jesus name. Amen!
