In this screen age where, any unevaluated, uncertified and an incredible person can share information with some or no censorship has led to expositions that has drastically transformed this generation in both ways, whether positively or negatively. The weight of what we see and hear sinks deep into our hearts so much that we have no other option done to act it out….. wide is the way that leads to destruction….Mattew 7:13… Do you remember this verse? The route for the masses!
Influence is not a force confined to celebrities or world leaders. Its a transformative potential, capacity or ability used by whoever bears it, to shape or guide peoples opinions, actions, or perceptions.
As People, the main mode of relating to each other is through communication, interactive actions and inactions. The way we relate to each other influences our thinking and actions.
There is a saying that goes like this “who or whatever controls the soul, controls the whole body”. The soul is that aspect of everyman where the intellect, will, desires and emotions reside. No action is unrehearsed, even with variety of situations, “the today” of a person is created by the many yesterdays. Before your innate reflex makes you jumps off the motorway in attempt to avoid being killed, you may have pictured the scenario over and over again in your lifetime. Babies are born and programmed by their caretakers and environment to better fit the Community- ‘Every corrupted mind came from a home’. Whatever fruit you observe in the Community, note that ‘a certain seed’ was planted.
“But they also have erred through wine, And through intoxicating drink are out of the way; The priest and the prophet have erred through intoxicating drink, They are swallowed up by wine, They are out of the way through intoxicating drink; They err in vision, they stumble in judgment.”Isaiah 28:7 NKJV
If a simple smile has the power to captivate another’s thought pattern and behavior then we should note that we have great influence which is accompanied by a greater responsibility in our homes, society, workplaces, churches, country and world as a whole. At any given time, we should be able to discern the type of influence we are exerting, keeping in mind that our choices in this regard holds the potential to change lives for the better or worse.
